Research interests: I’m excited to have joined Prof. Romero-Calvo’s lab to help develop the 21st-century fluidic infrastructure required for long-duration human spaceflight. My first project is a magnetohydrodynamic drive for electrolysis in low-gravity — which means using electric current and magnets to exert force on a fluid so that the oxygen & hydrogen gas bubbles generated via electrolysis can more easily be removed. This novel life-support architecture could present a dramatic improvement in mass and reliability over the current systems in use on the International Space Station.
