Dr. Koki Ho awarded National Science Foundation's CAREER grant
Dr. Ho has been awarded a five year $500K National Science Foundation CAREER grant to address a grand challenge in complex system design: enabling the design of flexible large-scale complex systems under future operational uncertainties in demands, environment, and performance. Ho's research proposal, "Designing Flexible Complex Systems with Coupled and Co-Evolving Subsystems under Operational Uncertainties," seeks to create new engineering design methodologies that can be used to make large-scale systems more adaptable to change and less susceptible to uncertainties that play out over time.
The program will develop a novel scalable design framework and associated computational techniques for staged deployment optimization of flexible large-scale complex systems by efficiently handling operational uncertainties at the early design stage.
